Alan Small’s Early Learning Ceilidh Band
Live at MacKays Hotel Wick 2006
This concert was a resounding success! Alan and all the youngsters raised over £1,900 playing at the many residential homes and functions around Fife to enable them to go to MacKays Hotel in Wick and make this DVD.
Our successful tour to Wick and Thurso at the invitation of Addie Harper was followed by the release of our DVD (see opposite) which features highlights from the concert we took part in at Mackays Hotel in Wick. It also includes some of the antics band members got up to during our epic trip North in an extremely tastefully decorated (thanks Hannah and Cassie!) Burnside Travel coach.
Despite being relative newcomers to the Box and Fiddle scene, the Early Learning Ceilidh Band has already received numerous invitations to play at Accordion and Fiddle Clubs, not to mention old folk’s homes and charitable events (in return for a modest donation to Band’s funds. As word of the band’s refreshing blend of youthful enthusiasm and musical prowess continues to spread, Alan Small reports happily that “The phone just hasn’t stopped ringing!”
